Vice President for Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer

The Vice President for Administrative Services/Chief Financial Officer (VPAS/CFO) is one of three senior administrators reporting directly to the President of the College.  The VPAS/CFO provides management and leadership for the administrative functions of the College.  As chief accounting and reporting officer, the incumbent assumes overall responsibility for the College’s financial, general accounting, contracts, accounts payable and receivable, and funding operations.  Position is responsible for establishing and updating the College’s financial policies and standards; overseeing the planning, direction and administration of the College’s support services, which include facilities planning and development; and coordinating with the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) physical plant management, as well as Colorado Community College System (CCCS) leadership.


As a member of the Executive Staff, VPAS/CFO contributes to the overall innovation, strategic planning, and financial well-being of the College, developing financial plans and strategies to support and fulfill the College’s vision, mission and values.  As the CFO and delegated authority for finance and administration, VPAS/CFO provides leadership, strategic direction, oversight and evaluation for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Facilities and Information Technology.  Within an environment valuing inclusivity at all levels of the College, the VPAS/CFO supports statewide initiatives including on-going BANNER implementation and refinement; implementation/evaluation of college-wide finance and administration policies and processes; and, in consultation with faculty, staff, students, and Executive Staff, provides strategic and financial strategies to strengthen CCD facilities, specifically, the continued development and implementation of the College’s Neighborhood Master Plan.


Education:     Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration or closely-related field.


  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible, broad based experience in fiscal and operational management roles is required.
  • This position also requires demonstrated supervisory experience; demonstrated experience in strategic planning, fiscal and risk management; and knowledge of, and experience with procurement processes, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.


Education:    Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Public Administration or closely related field.


  • CPA license.
  • 10 + years administration and finance experience within higher education, preferably in a community college.
  • Experience with facilities master planning, major construction projects and facilities management.
  • Experience in the oversight of Human Resource functions.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with local, state and federal agencies, Colleges and departments.
  • Ability to deal credibly and effectively with senior leadership of the College, AHEC and CCCS.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative working environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range goals in cooperation with multiple academic, student services, IT, HR, and community constituencies.

SALARY:          $121,927.20 annually
