Assignment Capsule

The Process Improvement Program Manager is responsible for working with the Executive Director of Quality Management to develop and implement a continuous process improvement program to meet contract requirements and efficiency commitments in the HGB proposal.  The program manager will need to be detail oriented with good leadership skills to effectively direct a process consulting team to evaluate key HGB work processes. The evaluations will assess the adequacy of internal controls, performance metrics, process efficiencies, customer experience, etc., in order to identify areas for potential performance improvements. Development of a partnership with the process owners and HGB department leaders will be critical to the implementation of this continuous improvement program. Coordination with the HGB data analytics and consultancy teams will be necessary to scale, rank, and hand off the management of identified improvement opportunities.  

Key Competencies

  • Management of the key processes review by identifying and ranking key HGB processes by working with HGB Leadership, management of the process consultant team, and the development of a process review report card.  The reviews will involve process mapping, an analysis of internal controls, performance metrics, time requirements, customer experience, etc., in order to identify areas of potential performance improvements.
  • Oversight of the Government Reporting Information Portal (GRIP) application.  This would include the monthly review of HGB leader loaded metric data, the monthly QM/QI Reporting, and updates to the metrics information as needed.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the annual HGB QM/QI Program Plans due DHA 60 days prior to the start of the option period. This includes coordination with Baldrige certified Humana associates that can review the QM/QI Program Plan against Baldrige criteria prior to submitting the Plan to DHA.  
  • Responsible for the HGB Executive Dashboard and its content.  This will require working with HGB Leadership to ensure the various performance and strategic information listed on the dashboard meets their needs and is functioning properly.       
  • Other quality management projects and oversight activities such as, 1DEA Campaigns, BCP oversight for HGB, System Downtime Reporting, Humana Enterprise and HGB Executive Leadership project requests, etc. 





 Role Essentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years Management and Quality Management Experience 
  • Processing mapping experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Role Desirables

  • MBA or other Advanced Degree
  • Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, Lean Kaizen, ISO 9001 or Baldrige certification or experience 
  • Data analytics knowledge
  • Root cause analysis knowledge
  • TRICARE program knowledge

Reporting Relationships

  • You will report to the Executive Director of Quality Management. This area is under the leadership of the SVP & Chief Operating Officer.
