UIW Mission


Position Summary
The Coordinator of Systems & Licensing for the UIW Libraries is responsible for the administration and management of all systems and platforms in support of library operations, including the library system platform - ALMA, the discovery system PRIMO, instructional and data collection systems - LibWizard suite, the digital repository - ExLibris, Library websites, all servers that support library operations, and all other library cloud-based systems related to library operations. This position is an integral member of the Libraries' administrative team and provides leadership in technological innovation in support of library programming and services. This position has additional responsibilities in supervising the management of licenses and agreements of library resources and systems and platforms. The Coordinator of Systems & Licensing reports to the Dean of Libraries.

This position is eligible for remote work two times per week after initial orientation, as approved by supervisor.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of library systems and platforms administration (cloud-based systems);
  • Strong knowledge of essential systems librarianship concepts;
  • Strong knowledge of the electronic publishing environment/ licensing trends;
  • Strong knowledge of electronic resources management;
  • Strong proficiency in integrated library system platforms, computer software and database organization systems;
  • Proficient knowledge of various classification standards/systems/ data structure and metadata standards;
  • Proficient knowledge of HTML;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
MLS / MLIS from an American Library Association accredited program. Note that non-ALA accredited MLS/MLIS Degree with relevant experience will be considered.

Required Work Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience administering cloud-based integrated systems with multiple modules of service, including library systems and platforms such as an ILS, LSP, data archives and repository.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and managing webpages and online content.
  • Two (2) years of experience directly or indirectly managing electronic resources access and directly or indirectly managing licensing and billing for electronic resources in a library setting.
  • One (1) year of experience leading teams or supervising in a library setting.


Preferred Qualifications
  • ALMA Certification.
  • Demonstrated experience working with ALMA/Primo; webpage coding, LibWizard, Digital Commons/BePress, EZ Proxy.
  • Three (3) years or more managing and administering Library Systems/ Platforms and digital content licensing and in overseeing cloud-based library systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of CSS, and client/server side programming languages such as Python, PHP.


Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Currently hold or ability to obtain certification in ALMA within 12 months of hire.

Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with flexibility based on the needs of the department.

Physical Demands
Ability to regularly move about campus to attend meetings on and off main campus.
