Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Financial Planning & Analysis team at Lucasfilm. This role manages accounting, annual planning, forecasting and reporting for various Lucasfilm business units.

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis builds solid working relationships with cross-company management, develops insightful financial analyses to support decision-making, and provides advice and expertise to both cost center managers and business unit executives.

Responsibilities

 

  • Partner with department heads to build budgets, analyzing areas for potential savings, and recommending solutions for managing their spend
  • Oversee all local accounting processes including: journal entries, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Assets, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data and appropriate controls in place
  • Work closely with counterparts at Disney to provide, gather and exchange financial information and analysis
  • Manage Lucasfilm capital asset process, including Capital Expenditure Request review, consolidation, and reporting
  • Collaborate with Disney counterparts to manage Lucasfilm quarter end close deadlines and deliverables
  • Support cost center managers with the purchasing process by providing coding, interfacing with Disney Procurement and monitoring good receipts
  • Provide presentation materials and variance analysis for Disney and Lucasfilm internal executive management team’s quarterly management reports and annual plan
  • Support the budgeting and long-range planning cycles, including development of underlying templates and analysis
  • Support efforts for process improvements and report redesign

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Deep understanding and hands on experience of accounting, forecasting, planning, and financial analysis and solid understanding of full financial statements and modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, involving complex issues in a fast-paced, unpredictable and often ambiguous environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with little general instruction.
  • Proven time management and multi-task management capabilities.
  • Expert proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google G-Suite applications; experience with TM1 & SAP preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to diplomatically interact and develop solid working relationships with management, staff, and divisional peers.
  • Corporate-level experience a plus

 

Preferred Education

 

  • 7+ years in finance or accounting with 5+ years of financial analysis experience and a BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/ or CPA designations are a plus.
